Secret, Hidden Lines

Spent the morning running around town and base. Think I might join a Knitting/Emboidery/Crocheting Club. I've always wanted to learn to do that stuff just never really had the nerve to try.

Anyways, what I really want to talk to you about is the Historical Museum I went to today. It is for the town I live in now, Valparaiso, and is chuck full of interesting pictures and old things. So much history. I don't often pause and think about the people that used to live here; what their lives were like, what they did for fun, if they struggled with the same things I do today (ie every Floridians greatest enemy: sand)

Walking through that little museum really reminded me of the fact that I'm not the center of the universe and I shouldn't live my life that way. Rather I should try to devote myself more to helping others, easing their pain, bringing them joy. I decided to start then and there by leaving an anonymous poem tucked away in a desk in the children's area. Hopefully someone will find it and it will brighten their day; I know it brightened mine.

love love love this post! you are so right about it being important to remember the people before us. It kind of helps ground you and make you realise, like you said, the the universe is bigger than just me.
I love that you left a poem behind. What a way to put a little of yourself out there to bring joy to someone else.
i just love you.
