What I Sea With My Eyes

Things I'm noticing about my new home:

*It feels like part of the ocean. The water is the life blood of this place, its touch lingers on everything, even on dry land. Trees are covered in green moss like algae, their branches heavy with fungus so that looking up is like looking down into an ocean filled with coral. The puffy clouds across the blue sky are waves breaking in the heavens.

*When it rains the air becomes saturated with water. The humidity acts like a cheese cloth, slowly letting the water seep down even as more falls. There is no escape from the damp. The moistened air leaks into your house, collecting and running in rivulets down your window panes. Water seems to settle into your skin, making it sticky to the touch. If you were to wring your hands together fat drops would splash to the floor.
